Cheers

Greetings all,

I'm a "veteran blogger," as I was recently labeled, of over 10 years. A bit of a wandering Jew, I'm currently residing in New York, but keeping (at least) an eye to Canada. I'm very excited to be blogging the Aggadah, having participated in the siyyum for EJ at Summer Institute. I think this is a great way to make part of our religion and culture more accessible to a great number of people and communities.

While others know which styles they'll be approaching this project with, I'm going to be keeping it more open. I tend to be rational in my approach to religion and texts, needing to understand the how and why both for our ancestors and for our contemporary practices, but I won't be limiting my approach to this type of exploration.

Looking forward to learning with you all,
Feygele

I'm a brand new blogger, and it will probably show. I hope I can even get this one posted! I'm very excited to begin the discipline of studying every day, thinking one deep, great thought a day, involving myself with the deep and great thoughts of our Torah. I hope that maybe one or two deep thoughts will squeeze their way through to my brain's surface. I am a "professional Jew", working for a large communal organization in adult Jewish education, but this blog is for me!! I read through the text for today, and was struck by how enticing the sages thought Aggadah was...like the spice in a stew, it brings the other ingredients to life. Torah study is like that. There's always something I find that sparks some attention, some thought. On to tomorrow.
